The arts and the sports worlds tend to clash, and while there are those of you out there that can have your cake and eat it too, many of the people who support these two vastly different worlds are polarized. You see it in everyday life and even in the schools – sports are always favored. So, while I invite everyone to learn more about Latin art, if you are part of that other camp and are somehow here by accidentwell, click here for your sports escape.

Now that that’s out of the way

The Latin arts. Few things in the American and European worlds compare when it comes to these majestic pieces of work. Whether it’s in the form of song, painting, photography or sculpture – the Latin arts always carry with them a certain flavor that just cannot be imitated.

Often described as vibrant and passionate, the Latin arts represent unbridled joy, indomitable rage and unrelenting fury. Paintings of the Latin art variety are often described by art critics as a storm or tempest of rich color and imagery.

So if you are an art fan or an artist looking for inspiration, you might do well to turn your sights toward the Latin culture and arts.

Latin music has become something that has actually moved into American culture. Lots of Latin stars have been able to crossover and enjoy the wealth that comes from having a universal appeal. The great thing about Latin music is that it doesn’t lose its origin even as it gains a larger audience.

Latin music often represents where it comes from because the sound is undeniable. The strumming of the guitar and the festive sounds are things that are direct parts of the culture. You can find a quick rundown <a href='http:// www.npr.org/2012/04/25/151361077/jennifer-lopez-latin-musics-comeback-kid?ft=1&f=1039′>here People hear music like this and they instantly know what they are hearing and where it is coming from. This is why the culture has blended so well into the mainstream.

Major artists like J.Lo and Shakira have continued to invade mainstream culture. The Latino appeal of these artists is what keeps the crowds interested in them. These are hot mainstream artists that have actually crossed over quite well. They have a large pop fan, but their influence is still obvious because of their inheritance.

The world has celebrated lots of different ethnic forms of music, but Latin music has definitely prevailed as one that is hear to stay. This is a great fusion into American culture.

Many people ask themselves if Latin art reflects Latin culture. From a Latin’s perspective, the answer is an unequivocal yes. Here is why. The centerpieces of our culture are food, dance, family, and fun and our art is reflective of our passions. Perhaps, the most famous Mexican artist of the last century is Frida Kahia. Her art perfectly illustrates my point.

Frida’s art, full of color, feminine passion, and romanticism, revolved around the passionate Latin culture. It shows off the best of what Latinos have to offer. Most of Frida’s art illustrates the passion of her relationships, the most painful moments of her life, and her ability to overcome tragedy. Her use of flowers to demonstrate hope in the face of difficulty exhibits the resiliency of the Latin spirit.

Diego Rivera, the husband of Frida, is another famous Latin artist. Rivera, the most renowned of the Mexican moralists, created art reflective the moral culture of Mexico. Together, Frida and Rivera created a legacy of Mexican art and culture that will last for centuries.

Mexican art is indeed reflective of our passionate culture. Our love of food, romantic love, dance, and family drives our lives and our relationships. There is no greater illustrations of who we are and what we do

The information doesn’t stop now. Keep looking: Frida Kahlo

First, you must determine what is involved in the world of art. Music, painting, architecture, fashion, poetry…there is so much that Latin culture has lent a helping hand to.

Take music for instance. Where would Ravel, Gershwin and Lecuona be if it wasn’t for the Bolero and Fandango ryhthms. The dotted-eighth-and-sixteeth helped create some of the past century’s most beloved tunes. Cubism and the Dadaist movements would not have gained any support without the focus and dedication of artists like Picasso and Dali. Latin influence in fashion means color, color and more color. The architectural sense of Cuba and South America have given flavor to the most enviable neighborhoods in places like Florida and Beverly Hills.

What college experience would be complete without the best Mexican Tequila? And Puss n’ Boots–what more can be said.

Latin culture is rich in everything that makes life worth living. All aspects of Latin culture contribute to modern society in some way for the better. J.Lo. is just a person, but her Latin roots allow her to be one of the most charismatic personalities to ever hit the large and small screens. Look to Latin culture for the best that is yet to come. The hits keep comin’: Mastery in Cubism by Pablo Picasso

Without a doubt the number one hit that gets the crowd up all together with no need for a partner is the oldie, but goodie, “come and shake your body baby do the.. You’ve got it, it’s “Conga.” It’s fun to snake around the room picking up wallflowers as you go one, two, three, kick.

Next up and you might have to dig to find it – as well as a partner – is “Lambada”, the hip rolling Brazil smash hit that spread throughout the U.S. and the rest of the world several years ago. Can’t find it? Pick up a copy of “Hit the Floor”.

What would a party be without arms flailing around everywhere trying to remember the exact moves than to whip out the ever popular “Macarena”. Another partner-less ditty anyone can try.

There is nothing like “Livin’ la Vida Loca” to make every couple jump up and do their American or Latin version of any dance they want to do.

Number five has to be a song that can accommodate a cha cha, electric slide, or the Latin version of a line dance made up especially for, “Tell Me Baby Girl ‘Cuz I Need to Know”.

From salsa to reggaeton, there is plenty on offer to dance to in the Latin music industry.

Víctor Manuelle has been making salsa music the early 1990s. For some romantic salsa try No Me Hace Falta.

Cuban salsa is different musically and uses a different dancing style. Try dancing to Quimbara by Celia Cruz.

One of the most popular salsa groups with younger people is Eddy-k. La Charanga Habanera is a great tune to dance to.

For those who do not know how to dance salsa but like the music, No Tengo La Culpa by El Clan is a perfect option.

Cumbia is slightly easier to dance to such as Pablo Pueblo by Rubén Blades.

You cannot go wrong with classic tunes like Yamulemau by Joe Arroyo.

Another popular option is La Mujer del Pelotero by Clan 537. You can dance in a conga line or as merengue.

Reggaeton is one of the most popular styles in Latin American. One option is Oye Mi Canto.

The most popular reggaeton artist is probably Daddy Yankee. A good dance tune is Gasolina.

Baby Lores and Insurrecto combine reggaeton with merengue for something different. One great dance tune to try is El Tatuaje.
